A Bay Area native, Sickafoose spent some years in Los Angeles studying bass with Charlie Haden and composition with Mel Powell. Since then, he's been recording and performing with Ani DiFranco, Don Byron, Trey Anastasio, Jenny Scheinman, Nels Cline, Ron Miles, Adam Levy, Scott Amendola, Will Bernard, Skerik, Jessica Lurie, Gina Leishman, Myra Melford, Carla Bozulich, Erin McKeown, Noe Venable, Etienne de Rocher, James Carney, Shane Endsley, Tony Furtado, and Darol Anger.
