"In 2004 I was asked to provide some music for a wedding. That isn't something I would usually do, but for the reason that the wedding was happening in Poland at a small town for which I had the coordinates brought to mind satellites and surveillance. This was a theme and a chance to expand my practice a bit more and try out some ideas. When I looked up names of satellites they were charming - there is Telstar of course and the mysterious Dummy Mass and a Starlette, and each name gave plenty of clues about what to do. In the case of Cluster 2FM5 it was hard to avoid making a 'Cluster' track. It all got done very quickly and sent off to Poland, I think it got a play, I can't quite recall. I made a very limited number of CDs and sent them to a few unlucky people, so it remained a bit of an exclusive for nearly a decade. One track (Telstar 8) was re-used for the track 'Taking Out The Surfing Bird' on the 'Under Gail Succubus' album two years later. Now while I work very slowly on new things it seems a decent time to make this generally available at no cost, in case it brings some wider joy to satellite fanciers. Or something."
