Tom was born in Chicago, but lived in the Bay Area for the past 45 years. He was a writer, editor, and columnist at GrammarBook.com An accomplished bluegrass musician, he played banjo and sang with Roy and the Adults, the Good Ol’ Boys, and the Frank Wakefield Band. He later produced a series of eclectic, critically acclaimed albums labeled “The Usual Suspects” that spanned blues, rock, country, jazz, big band, zydeco, bluegrass, and “deco music,” and featured musicians such as Maria Muldaur, Taj Mahal, Dan Hicks, David Nelson, David Shapiro, David Grisman, Norton Buffalo, Lady Bianca, Peter Rowan, Vicki Randle, Pete Sears, and Mike Bloomfield.
