Single US 1972 on DCT Recorders label
Jazz, Pop, Folk, World and (Contemporary Jazz)
10'' one-sided metal acetate, mono. The track is mis-spelled "Hope I Don't Fall In Love With You" (omitting "that") on the label. The version heard on the acetate is the demo version recorded in L.A. in late summer 1971 with producer Robert Duffey - the version which ended up on "The Early Years Vol.2". The mix is pretty much the same, it is EQ'd a little heavier on the bass frequencies. Waits was signed to Asylum in 1972, and the sessions for his first LP "Closing Time" (released March 1973) took place in early 1972, so I'd date this disc 1972.
