Tomi Malm began piano lessons at the age of four and was soon encouraged to pursue a career as a classical pianist. Malm participated in a number of competitions and had the chance to perform at renowned major venues within Scandinavia. Soon after, he started showing a great interest in artists such as Bill Evans, Weather Report and Joni Mitchell, among others. His professional career was launched at a very early age. He studied in three conservatories and focused on classical conducting and composing. Sometime Later, he began doing studio work, and arranging for other artists. He also joined a number of bands and had a very active performing career. Later, he concentrated on studio work, producing and arranging. Malm has gone through all sort of music styles. He has produced an array of recording artists in Scandinavia, including Ana Johnson, Nurspirit Helsinki and Bleak. All of his productions, no matter the style they're tagged as, are singular and recognizable. Malm has also participated in countless records, radio and TV commercials, soundtracks and jingles. Back in 2009, Malm produced and arranged a tribute album to David Foster, entitled "Fly Away: The Songs of David Foster". The album showcased some of the greatest vocalists and session players in the business, including Robbie Dupree, Bill Champlin, Bill Cantos, Jeff Pescetto or Warren Wiebe. Malm's debut solo album, entitled "Walkin' On Air", was released on October 15, 2017. The album features world-class singers like Jason Scheff, Jeff Pescetto, Jerry Lopez, Julian Thomas. Clif Magness, Ashton Moran, Zosia, Warren Wiebe and Shem von Schroeck, and also includes recognized session players like Alex Al, John Robinson, Neil Stubenhaus, Vinnie Colaiuta, Simon Phillips and Robbie Buchanan, to name just a few.
