After a couple of singles on Columbia with Harry James and a handful of singles for 2 of his own labels (Century and Continental), Tommy Gumina was signed to Decca Records and made his first long-player as a leader. The LP had a generous 14 tracks compared to the usual 12 which was industry standard at the time.
