American keyboardist and synth-player. Born: 26 October 1951, Westbury, Connecticut, U.S.A. Mariano embarked on his career with piano lessons at age eight, followed by getting his act together as a church organist and on the club circuit before joining Frank Zappa’s band in 1977. He departed the band in 1982 and then collaborated with Steve Vai, The Band From Utopia and other alumni associated with Frank Zappa. In 1994 he also toured and worked with Mona Lisa Overdrive.
