Toninho Barbosa

Brazilian sound engineer known as "the Brazilian Rudy Van Gelder". Born in Teresina, State of Piaui, in Norheast Brazil, he moved to Rio de Janeiro in the mid-60s, and became one of the most-in-demand engineers in Rio's busy music scene during the 70s and 80s, when he worked at Sonoviso Studios. There, he recorded legendary albums by such acts as Azymuth, Danilo Caymmi, Francisco Mário and Yana Purim. Since the early 2000s, he runs his own TBS Studios.
