This deluxe 4-CD set includes Townes Van Zandt's seven studio albums from his creative peak between 1968 and 1978, plus eight live songs performed in July 1973 (as taken from the Live At The Old Quarter, Houston, Texas live album) which do not appear on the seven studio albums. The box also includes a 52-page illustrated booklet including a detailed biography, as well as a track-by-track commentary. This is the original deluxe long-box format. Later reissued in short-box format. The reissue includes four extra tracks on the fourth disc after the Flyin' Shoes album which were also released as bonus tracks on Charly Records CD reissues of that album (first in 1998, and also in 2003).
