Canadian band from Hamilton, Ontario. Originally formed in 1968 as Nora's Truck Stop, they were re-named to Tranquillity Base by RCA Limited VP George Harrison when they signed with the company in late 1969. The band split after co-founder Ian Thomas (2) left the group in 1971 to work as a producer at Canadian Broadcasting Corporation before building his career as a successful solo artist with GRT Of Canada Ltd..
