One of the NZ recording industry's most important figures in recent decades. Having spent much of the 70s in Europe, Trevor returned to NZ in 1980 and initially managed Stunn, a label owned by Terry Condon. He left Stunn to set up Reaction Records for Glyn Tucker Jnr in 1981, and produced several acts for them including Mockers with whom he had a string of top ten hits. In 1985 he went into partnership with Mirage Films in Pagan Records. When Mirage collapsed he bought the rest of the label and operated it until 2005. Over the years he was responsible for discovering many acts, some of which signed to his labels and some he passed on, amongst them Shihad, Bic Runga, and Greg Johnson, all of whom had substantial success. Reekie has also played with several acts in his own right and is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist. He has written extensively over the years for a variety of publications and currently hosts a weekend interview styled show on Radio New Zealand's National Radio network.
