Trifulka is a jazz fusion band from the Chilean southern island of Chiloe. The group consists of Rolando Maldonado (lead singer and bassist) Horacio Rebolledo,(composer , saxophone , flute and vocals) Christian Koppmann (Trumpet and vocals) ; Pedro Garrido, (drummer and percussionist ) , Daniel Alvarado (Keyboards) and Carlos Mancilla (accordion). The band started playing some time around 2003 in local clubs from several cities of the island of Chiloe. Two years later, they released their debut album "Fresco Y Ahumado" which shaped the band's identity as the musical ambassador of Chiloe. Their unique blend of different music styles plus a strong respect for the origins of the island's culture granted them a huge success. In 2006 they released their second album "Planeta Trifulka" which added more original compositions with lyrics based on everyday business living on the island. Their success allowed them to travel to Europe in 2009 to participate in several jazz festivals. Their latest album "42° Latitud Sur" was released in 2011 and added some influences from mexican folk.
