Band, US
Latin, World and Folk
Founded in 1959 by Reinaldo Gómez (guitar, vocals), Aníbal Julián Núñez (bass, backing vocals) and Nino Palacios (requinto guitar, backing vocals and arranger). In 1967, they get a contract to travel to the US, thanks to Mr. Mauricio Paiz, an American sergeant who at the time was stationed at the US Army In Paraguay. On that trip, the "Trio Paraná" has the invaluable contribution of the great harpist Luis Bordón. The "Trio Paraná" becomes "The Paranas" and begins a cycle of successful presentations around the United States. Lorenzo Gonzalez (harp), replaced Luis Bordón and remained with the group for 11 years until 1980, again replaced by Juancito Cabrera, who stays with The Paranas until 1990, when by common agreement, the members decided to dissolve the group.
