Both born and bred in Manchester, England, Ben Ashdown and Jason Boardman first met in the post Factory Records era of the world famous Hacienda night club. You rarely met the same person twice in those days! A flurry of DJ gigs (Jason was once dubbed Manchester's busiest DJ) and 5 college years later, by weird coincidence, they found themselves being neighbours in the same block of flats. Jason running his DJ/promotion empire from his flat and Ben honing his studio skills in his, the formation of Truant seemed inevitable. The vision was simple, create music for the coffee table clubber, something to dance to, but also something you can enjoy when gauched on the sofa.
