Singer of World and Folk
Eritrean krar player and tigrinay singer She was born 1939 in Quatit, Eritrea (Italian colony at the time). She started to play the krar when she was 8 years old, moved to Addis Abeba in the 1960s to record records with Tewelde Redda for Philips and left the country in the time of civil war between Ethiopia and Eritrea in the 1970s. She first moved to Sudan and finally 1988 to the Netherlands where she still performs traditional tigrinay music.
