The music of nine-piece Melbourne outfit Tulalah, transcends stylised boundaries. Affectionately labeled as “Orchestral Folk”, the group strives to create an ever expansive sound, reaching beyond the confines of their instrumentation. They seek to defy the ever emerging culture of small ensembles with extensive and powerful arrangements that captivate the listener. Their debut 2xLP “The Flood”, released by Equinox Recordings in October 2015, continues the group’s collective influences of jazz, folk, rock and modern classical music and intricately weaves them into a symphonic sound scape that has captivated audiences across the globe. Support from taste-makers such as Gilles Peterson, Kev Beadle, Jon Oliver, Toshio Matsuura, Paul Gough and Mike Gurrieri show the level of musical intrigue Tulalah has created with their bold and bashful sound.
