Album NL 2009 on Saphrane label
Jazz
Whilst her first album mainly contained covers, is her new album Quiet Now much more personal. It holds more original repertoire. Most of the songs were written by her partner and pianist Ewout Pierreux and bass player Nicolas Thys, with lyrics both in English and Sepedi (Tutu’s mother tongue). Additionally the quartet recorded three covers by McCoy Tyner, Mark Fransman (great South African pianist and saxophone player) and Joni Mitchell. Quiet Now turned out to be a beautiful and very personal statement and the quartet cannot wait to introduce it to the world.
