His music is reminiscent of the old school crooners such as Marvin Gaye,Donny Hathaway,Johnathan Butler,Peabo Bryson and Frankie Beverly but relates to the new school crooners such as Maxwell,Joe, and Eric Benet. Ty's musical journey started early in his life singing in his church choir but his love for jazz and soul music led him to eventually co-write and perform with smooth jazz saxophonist Najee. That experience influenced him to start his own solo career which he still continues today. All of Causey's music is totally original, written arranged,produced and performed by himself on his record label Tyvonn Records. Whether it's his soulful jazz/R&b albums or his original Gospel/Christmas albums, you will enjoy the unique musical journey of Ty Causey.
