Album US 1976 on Art Supermarket Records label
Classical, Folk, World and (Abstract, Experimental, Drone)
Recording and mixdown at Perfect Crime Prod., Watertown, Ma. Track A1: A solo performed by Robert Rutman. The piece consists of a single rod of the Bow Chime for 10 minutes. The piece illustrates the rich tones and variety of sound that can be produced on the Bow Chime just bowing a single rod. Track A2: A raga sung by Kalpana Mazaumder, accompanied by Robert Rutman on the Bow Chime. The Bow Chime is used in the tradition of the Tamboura providing the background sound for the singer. In response to the instrument, Ms. Mazaumder introduced a slight variation into the raga. Track B: An improvised melody on the Single String Steel Cello by Robert Rutman, accompanied by Rex Morrill on the Bow Chime. The track title for A2 is misspelt as 'Gursari Tori' on the label.
