Ulterior Lux started in the 80's as a bizarre funk fusion group, formed by bass player Jean Chaine & drummer Dimthings from Miami, joined in 1990 by Swiss saxophonist Markus Stauss for their first album "The Dancing Man", a double live LP. They released three albums between 1990 and 1997, the young and already much in demand drummer Rémy Sträuli replacing Dimthings after the first album.
