Band, GB
Rock
UK indie-rock band formed in the mid 1990s, initially as Pop-a-cat-a-petal, comprised of Andrew Victor Wood (lead vocal, guitar), Richard Green (4) (lead guitar), Vanessa Best (bass, vocals), Andy Peace (drums) and Matt Jones (6) (keyboards). Wood, Green and Peace had previously been in Sleepy People. Signed to Nude records, they split after their debut album Everything Picture (1999). They regrouped in 2010 to contribute to a tribute gig and album for Cardiacs' Tim Smith, and decided to continue as a group. Matt Jones left prior to recording Play For Today (2012) and was replaced by Bob Birch (2), Andy Peace was subsequently replaced by Bruce Renshaw.
