Umlaut were a short lived band from Sheffield, United Kingdom formed as a three piece in early 2004 with Matt (drums), Tom (guitar and vocals) and Steph (bass). They have been joined by Dan (guitar and backing vocals) in the latter part of 2004. The band split up after they released their first and only single Winter Coat on Fantastic Plastic Records in 2005. As a result of the split two bands, Johnny Rocket & The Bang Bangs (which itself is defunct) and Situationists have emerged from Umlaut's ashes.
