Under a Black Sun is a dark, experimental musical project that came to fruition in the fall of 2005. "Descend as Wolves" was the first of several obscurely, self-released albums that have come into existence. While the music typically consists of incessant, repetitous guitar chords strummed amidst a wall of hauntically evocative noise-scapes, the lyrics deal with recurrent themes of existential darkness, contemplative nihilism/nihility, as well as a seemingly ever unfolding occult philosophy. Bordering somewhere between neo-folk, experimental ambient and ritual noise, Under a Black Sun still manages to stand alone as a pioneer of a uniquely dark, personal and uncompromising musical niche.
