Formed in April of 2009 with the name of Taman Makam Pahlawan. Initially we were established in the city of Makassar because all my friends are studying there , even though we all come from the same area , namely Toraja . We also had to follow several events ranging from parades and festivals to music performances in Makassar , then we brought the genre of alternative rock in the early formation : Dion ' dee ' ( Vocals ) , Evan ( Bass ) , Bryan ( guitar ) , Asto ( guitar ) & Andre ' sihegen ' ( Drum ) . Had bergonta personnel , especially on vocals . End of 2009 Yaved ( Vocal ) came on for Dion ' dee ' and we were slightly shifted from rock to modern alternative rock with a distinctive sound character Yaved that time . In mid-2010, we released the first demo single with the title ' Titik Hitam ' . In October of that year Asto decided to go back to the Toraja and met with Beny ( Vocal ) which eventually fills the front row replacing Yaved . Considerable distance certainly a barrier and we had a vacuum for some time , until finally Bryan successfully complete college and back domiciled in Toraja with Asto & Beny . Started since that's our music that was once much changed from rock to metal , influenced from bands such as Bullet For My Valentine , Lamb Of God , Arch Enemy , and many more . We also had participated in several music events in Toraja up in May of 2011 we were able to release a second demo song ' After This End ' . In October of that year as well Asto again decided to leave the city to continue the study gavel ( personnel knows what's up with this one , is very fond of the move ) . In mid 2012, Evan is finished with college also decided to move to Toraja and hanging out with Bryan & Beny who then began working on the material for the debut album , aided also some concepts that worked in the hammer Asto . And finally , in December we were able to gather together in Toraja , that's when we thought of changing the name of the band ' Taman Makam Pahlawan' which we are still not quite fit with what we feel. With a variety of input and support from friends we also agreed to use the name ' UNDER GRACE ' for this band , that's the name of that seemed most suitable and could represent the feelings and spirit of all of us. UNDER GRACE in the language of our country which means ' Grace ' is a form of gratitude and our thanks to the grace of God which has been entrusted to each of us , maybe that's the reason why we chose this name . UNDER GRACE officially established on 12 December 2012 , for our music genre inspired many of the band As I Lay Dying and Killswitch Engage , as well as local bands KAPITAL ( Tenggarong ) & NEMESIS ( Bandung ) . Early in 2013, Andre backwards and out of the band due to busy study in Makassar also cause long distances if they have to commute to Toraja , to this very day we have yet to find someone who can fill the position of drum and just use an additional player if it should appear live . After a long process that we finally managed to finish debut album in a format that contains six song EP . ' Between Light and Darkness ' was chosen to be the album title , which was later released on 14 February 2013 under the auspices of Kasimpo Home Production ( Tana Toraja ) . So far we have learned many things: passion, hard work, togetherness and many other things that we get together UNDER GRACE, and most importantly, how we can be useful and beneficial to others. 'NO PAIN, NO GAIN'!
