Representatives of the family style Imdad Khani Gharana (school) also called Etawah Gharana which goes back to Enayat Khan’s father Imdad Khan (1848–1920) – leading sitar and surbahar player of his time. The name Etawah Gharana derives from a village outside Agra where Imdad Khan lived.
