Czech baroque composer and organist (1644 – February 27, 1718). He is sometimes called one of the most important composers in the hymnal tradition in Czechia. His magnum opus is Cappella Regia Musicalis (Prague, 1693), containing 772 pieces, a massive collection of hymns, sacred and festive songs, and all manner of musical settings of almost all central parts of the Roman Catholic liturgy, all printed primarily in the Czech language.
