A.k.a. Victor James Lovero

1959 - January 12, 2004 Longtime Sports Illustrated photographer, team photographer for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and Anaheim Angels, V.J. Lovero passed away on January 12, 2004, at 5:30 AM at Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital in Newport Beach, CA, after a four-year battle with cancer. Considered by many to be one of the best sports photographers in the business, V.J. Lovero was a frequent contributor to Sports Illustrated, garnering 39 of the magazine's covers during his career. Aside from doing sport photography, VJ also did work with musicians and for album artwork.
