Album BE 2015 on Bonzai Basiks label
Dance (Techno, Tech House)
The ever impressive Van Czar gets his techno groove on at Bonzai Basiks once again with his Rumba EP complete with two brilliant remixes. A truly gifted artist, Van devotes his time to music in many ways. His very successful Bonzai Basik Beats Spain, which can be heard on multiple internet radio stations, will have passed its 65th episode by the time of this release. On top of that he is also releasing material as Cysxe as well as various collaborations. Just recently he got a vinyl release on our Bonzai Worx Volume 5 series with Love Trip featuring Sugar Love. Still a lot more to come from this guy, so stay tuned. The Original Mix intros with a nice, big punchy kick with a healthy dosing of claps that really get the rhythm flowing. The Techno just oozes out of the sound with sharp synth stabs joining forces with cool vocals. The rhythms keep with the title of the track and bring out that rumba-esque groove which ties in perfectly given Van's African roots and his current Spanish residence. A nice mixture of cultures that has been captured beautifully in this driving Techno sound. A definite must have you won't want to miss. Fran Navaez returns to Basiks with his remix and really darkens the tones beautifully. His last appearance was with the fantastic Feeling back at the start of 2014 as well as a guest spot on Bonzai Basik Betas. On the remix a monster kick drum resides over the proceedings as crispy hats break through. A deep bass rattles right through the sound as it lurks on the low end. Sweeping FX litter the groove and give way to the superb synth hits that pop up all around. A tight drum arrangement ensures a solid groove that will be a welcome addition in many sets. Onofrio Conte joins in on the remix duties with his superb slice. Onofrio has cropped up across various labels under the Bonzai umbrella including Sounds R Us Recordings, Eyepatch Recordings and Bonzai Basiks. His works are well renowned for their energetic vibes and we are never disappointed. Great to see him return to these shores and hope for much more in the future. The remix intros with a subdued kick drum as a throbbing, deep bassline takes control. Bright, crispy hats cut through the low frequencies like a knife providing a great contrast to the sound. Shuffling percussions begin to form up alongside a cool stab as that bassline dishes out its driving force. The break throws up a surreal pad sequence before we get thrust right back into the main sound for the duration. Another gem from Onofrio that will no doubt feature heavily in many sets.
