Vanessa was born in Germany, but she and her two siblings grew up in the Nigerian capitol, Nigeria. Together with their German mother and Nigerian father they moved to Germany when Vanessa was a teenager. Already during her school days Vanessa was part of the school choir and musical performances. She developed an astonishing presence on stage and conquered her first fan's hearts. Nevertheless she decided to do a professional training after her secondary school qualifications, and successfully completed a training as a business woman for wholesale and foreign trade. Besides this she totally devoted herself to music and attracted the attention of the label Edel Records in the year 2000. First recordings of a German concept album as well as of the soundtrack of the movie "Little Polar Bear" followed. And the music? She's being influenced by her idols Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan. Vanessa is what you call "a musician by birth". Singing and performing on stage just runs in her blood. She is a nonpareil in both fields and combines her talents with an adorable charm which is just enthralling.
