A.k.a. Carl-Michael "Czral" Eide, Hugh Stephen "Skoll" James Mingay, Yusef "Vicotnik" Parvez Manes (3)
An avantgarde metal band from Oslo, Norway. Founded in 1994 by drummer Carl-Michael Eide, who was joined by Vicotnik (Yusaf Parvez) on guitar and Skoll (Hugh Mingay) on bass. Ved Buens Ende means 'At the End of the Rainbow' (referring to the mythological rainbow Bifröst, the path from earth to Asgård). They debuted with the demo "Those Who Caress the Pale" in 1994, which didn't gain much success at the time. The first full-length album "Written in Waters" was released in 1995 and featured female vocals by Lill Katherine Stensrud. The band frequently toured with session vocalist Simen Hestnæs, but ended up disbanding in 1997. In 2000 Eide reanimated the spirit of Ved Buens Ende in his avant rock band Virus (17). In 2006 Eide and Parvez reformed the band with two new members, Petter Berntsen (Plenum) and Einar Sjursø (Esso), and had plans to record new music. The group however ended up disbanding again in 2007. In 2019 the band reunited again for a live performance.
