Italian author of the sixteenth century. "Il Velardinièllo", dialect diminutive of the name "Bernardino", is considered the first Neapolitan singer ever, the founder of a long line of popular poets and storytellers in Naples. Purifier of dialect poetry, invented the "Villanelle" and other poems in Neapolitan dialect, being able to introduce them in the Neapolitan song.
