A.k.a. Countess Vera Gottliebe Anna von Lehndorff
Vera Lehndorff (May 14, 1939 in Königsberg, Germany) is best known as Veruschka, one of the most celebrated supermodels of the 1960s. Frequent Vogue cover girl and the sinewy body photographed by David Hemmings in Michelangelo Antonioni’s film Blow-Up (1966), discovered in Germany as an art student, Lehndorff stopped modelling at the end of the 1960s to pursue the art career she had interrupted, turning, appropriately, to collaborative, staged photography.
