Single UK 1980 on I.M.E. Records label
Alternative (Punk)
There was originally some contention around this release. A small ad. (probably from 'Sounds' music paper at the time) reads: "Victimize would like it known that the new single 'Where Did The Money Go' and the re-released 'Baby Buyer' have been put out without the band's consent. Anybody wishing to get in touch with the band should contact Andy Jones, telephone Barry (South Wales) ......" The '45 Revolutions' book by Mario Panciera gives further detail that in December 1979 Richard Haines wanted to issue these remaining two tracks from the 1978 Fair Deal session without the involvement of any of the original band members. A few advance copies were pressed before the end of the year, housed in a generic sleeve. The proper version (this) was released later in May 1980 in an edition of 1,000 copies.
