A.k.a. Víctor Martínez Rivas

Víctor Martínez Rivas was a journalist also a poet always close to music, teathre and in general arts from Bogotá, Colombia (1885 – 1953). In 1929 he wrote the traditional colombian song "Tiplecito De Mi Vida" (Torbellino) and Alejandro Wills compose it which now a days is still really popular. He was a representative fiigure of Colombia's modern art movements - Romanticism & classicism -. He was the director of Bogotá Cómico magazine and an active member of "La Gruta Simbólica" (1869-1936) which arose right in the middle of the War of a Thousand Days (1900), was a gathering of open doors in which even political and literary opponents met. There were about 70 members. It would come to revolutionize and significantly influence Colombian literature, arts and national politics.
