Band,
A.k.a. Decimation (3)
After recording the demo "Condemned" in summer 1987, they secured their spot on the upcoming Auburn compilation "Heavy Artillery", planning to record the first song they ever wrote together, "Death In The Skies" for the compilation. After the deal with Auburn the openings of their shows saw them announced them as "Auburn Recording Artists - Violence". One of the last Violence shows (at Diversions in April 88) was recorded by the band and made into a tape called "Live From The Dive", which was given to fans, sold at the early Decimation shows, and given to local radio stations including to that of the late radio host and Underground Express co-founder Stella "The Thrash Queen" Cultrona-Salamone. In Spring of 1988 they changed their name to Decimation, and immediately recorded & released the demo "Armed To The Teeth". After receiving positive reviews for the demo in The Iron Planet they were brought into Modern Recording Studios by Auburn Records to record a song for their spot on Heavy Artillery, deciding to record one of their newest songs "Silenced In Time" instead of the planned Violence-era song. In January 1989 Jeff Charest was replaced by Jim Lippucci (on vocals) and Dan Goodrich (on second guitar), and "Silenced In Time" was released on Heavy Artillery in 1990.
