Born in 1851, in Macaé, RJ, Brazil. Died in 24 Apr 1885 in Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil. Flutist and composer. Student of Joaquim Antonio Da Silva Callado, of whom he was a close friend. An active professional in Rio de Janeiro, he toured the North of Brazil and worked in São Paulo. A saxophone recitalist, he had a good musical background, both theoretical and practical. Many equated him to Callado. It was celebrated the interpretation of Patápio Silva in the pioneering recording of his polka "Só Para Moer", reproduced in Chorando Callado.
