Album RS 2016 on WMAS Records label
World
Vladimir Nikić, Serbian bass and accordion player, started his career playing popular folk music. In time he developed an interest in jazz and rock, but he never gave up his roots in folk. He has published two albums of instrumental music which are notable for their production values, free of dazzling effects, opting for a simple and balanced approach which makes the magic of the Balkans music come alive. His albums convey an authentic atmosphere and mood, a personal history and experience of the spiritual worlds of Christianity, Islam and Buddhism, history, literature… Nikić’s music is ambiental, meditative, transparent, discrete, easy on texture and deep with meaning, restrained in dynamics from mezzopiano to mezzo-forte... Četvrti album harmonikaša, basiste i kompozitora Vladimira Nikića. Još jedan skladan spoj balkanske muzike i džeza, koji od prvog do poslednjeg tona albuma neguje pretežno setno raspoloženje i nežne emocije. Većinu instrumentala potpisuje Nikić, sa izuzetkom tradicionalne makedonske melodije „Aber dojde Donke”, kao i završnog džez standarda „How Insensitive”, u kojem se muzičarima pridružuje pevačica Gordana Bilbija.
