Band,
R&B/Soul and Reggae
Danish new wave inspired funk/rock/reggae band from Copenhagen, established around 1976-77 as a musical collaboration between vocalist/keyboard player Lise Meidell and drummer Torben Andersen (5). By September 1980 the band was completed with bassist Christian Mørch, guitarist/vocalist Jan Nijenhuis, and guitarist Martin Frederiksen. This lineup debuted on Danish national television on 9 April 1981 in DR's "Båndbix Koncert" and recorded debut single Wonder Fun in September same year. The following month Frederiksen left and was replaced by guitarist Jørgen Holst (2). The band toured nationwise in 1982, performed live at the Copenhagen carnival in May and again on DR's "Spil Op" in November before recording second single Peanut Ambition in May 1983. In September same year Mørch left and was replaced by bassist David E. Nielsen. Keyboardist Torben Engberg was added in January 1984 and this lineup performed in March 1984 on "Eldorado", their third performance on national television. The band described their music as "neurotic rock or funkwave", much in the style of Nina Hagen during the same period.
