Renowned Latin percussionist [Walfredo De Los Reyes III]. He is the son of Walfredo De Los Reyes II, a famed Cuban trumpet player and singer, and the father of percussionists Walfredo De Los Reyes, Jr. [Walfredo De Los Reyes IV] and Daniel De Los Reyes. Some confusion may arise from the fact that in the earlier years of his career, while his father (Walfredo De Los Reyes II) was still active, he is often credited as Walfredo De Los Reyes, Jr. to distinguish him from his father, the trumpet player. Recordings credited to Walfredo De Los Reyes, Jr., dating from the 1940s through the early 1960s are most certainly Walfredo De Los Reyes, Sr. and [u]not[/u] his son. Walfredo De Los Reyes, Sr. has worked with many famous musicians, including Josephine Baker, Cachao, Elena Burke, La Lupe, Julio Gutierrez Cuban Jam Sessions, Quarteto de Aidas, Louie Bellson, Bobby Darin, Dionne Warwick, Juliet Prowse and Debbie Reynolds.
