A.k.a. Walther von der Vogelweide
Walther von der Vogelweide (1170-1230 CE) is the most celebrated of the Middle High German lyric poets. He studied his art under the renowned poetry master Reinmar the Olde at Duke Frederick I's court of Vienna, where he stayed until the Duke's death in 1198. Von Der Vogelweide then lived a "juggler's life", wanderering from court to court, singing for his lodging and his bread.
