Band, *1992 NO
Hip-Hop/Rap
Norwegian Hip-Hop crew consisting of three members: brothers Tech-Rock & Karma, and the producer Hawk. All three have been part of the Norwegian Hip-Hop movement since the late 80s, and came together to form Warlocks in 1992. Three years flew away before Warlocks was offered their first contract. The Norwegian label 'dBUT' discovered their talent and Warlocks' first album "Lyrical Marksmen" was released. The single went down well with Hip-Hop heads all over Scandinavia, but most people got to know Warlocks for reasons other than their music. The video for "Graff Kill" from the debut album got lots of attention in newspapers and TV. It showed all three crew-members destroying a traincar - the train was bombed with graffiti, the windows were broken and all furniture was destroyed. NSB (the Norwegian train company) reported Warlocks to the police, but without luck. They never went to jail, and got lots of free publicity.
