Wayne Anthony grew up in the New Jersey & New York area. At the age of 13, he signed a recording contract with Roulette Records on which he released a few singles in the 1960's. Later in his career, following a move to California, he turned his attention to Gospel singing and joined the James Cleveland Singers, with whom he sang for 23 years. His vocal talents caught the attention of Paul Anka, who signed him as a backup singer. Anthony has also sung backup for Herbie Hancock, Cat Stevens, and Michel Colombier. He continues today as a successful Gospel singer.
