Coinciding with the Richard Nader organized ”The British Are Coming” revival tour of the US and Canada in the summer of 1973, Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders released ”Sweet America” as a new single. Recorded at Strawberry Studios, Stockport this featured Frank Renshaw (ex-Toggery Five, ex-Young & Renshaw) on guitar. Pauline Renshaw and Sue MacLaine, who were in a quartet called Boogie Remedy with their respective husbands Frank and Pete in 1973-74, sang backing vocals on the single.
