Album UK 2009 on Sons of Scotland label
Hip-Hop/Rap, Folk, World and (Cut-up/DJ, Trip Hop)
Re-mixtape release containing heavy mainstream tracks remixed by Scotland’s own; 'Drew Devine' aka 'Werd'. While his previous solo release was aimed towards hip-hop heads and the underground scene this Mixtape goes in the opposite direction towards a younger current audience interested in more in your face material and catchy hooks. With that said, dont expect to hear this on mainstream radio, not only because a cut version doesn’t exist, but because Werd continues to come with his raw Scottish accent and hard lyrics that aren’t for the faint of heart. Tracks vary on the Mixtape from songs as 'Drop' that pokes fun at other Scottish rappers using a dumbed down accent, to a club remix of ‘Bar Exchange’, and even a Pussycat Dolls remix of 'When I Grow Up'. With the selection of tracks its clear to see Werd isn’t set to stay in any one style, but rather keep it mixed up to pull in as many different types of listener available.
