Band, US
Whitefish High School Percussion Ensemble & Drumline is an American high school band, established in 2007 and located in Whitefish, Montana. The ensemble recruits percussionists in grades 9 to 12, and performs a variety of music: drumline cadences, classical percussion compositions and novelty pieces. Members of the ensemble are learning standard drum rudiments, all major and minor scales, basic music theory and various performance techniques on a wide range of percussion instruments, as well as metal and plastic household bins, containers and barrels. An experimental band Matmos, which had recorded several albums at SnowGhost Studios located in Whitefish, had persuaded members of the Drumline to take part in recording sessions for their latest album Plastic Anniversary released in March 2019, where they played plastic objects sourced from a recycling center nearby, including handcrafted 'trumpets' and 'trombones,' and massive plastic garbage bins.
