Mr. Wilbert H. DeLaine was formerly a student at Coolidge High School, Washington, D.C., and is a graduate of the D.C. Youth Orchestra Program where he was Concert Master. In 1966 he won the Metropolitan Area competition for the Congress of Strings contest. He studied music and pre-med at the University of Maryland where he was Concert Master with the University symphony orchestra. His violin studies were with Mr. Joel Berman at the University.
