American Flutist & Composer Born in 1956 in San Diego, CA; received Bachelor's Degree in Composition from San Diego State University, where he studied with David Ward-Steinman. Principal flute player with San Diego's Jewish Community Center Orchestra. "Sortie" -- French for "a going out" -- is Brown's first work to be recorded by a professional ensemble and concludes Side B of Crystal Records S509, recorded in 1982 by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
