Obscure jazz vocalist and musician from St. Louis, MO. Listed as "Vocal Chorus by Wm. Calloway" on "Laughing Blues" by Powell's Jazz Monarchs (Okeh 8333), he was thought to be also the trumpet player of the band (as credited on St. Louis Jazz 1925-1927). Later research, especially interviews with Floyd Campbell (3) made clear that William Calloway was in fact a banjo player.
