William "Smokey" Robinson, Jr. (born February 19, 1940) is an American R&B/pop singer-songwriter, record producer, and former record executive. He was a founding member of The Miracles later varied for commercial reasons as Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, leaving for a solo career in 1972. For credits to "Smokey Robinson" and other variations that do not include anywhere in the name "William", "Bill", "W" or anything that stands for "William", please use Smokey Robinson plus ANV when necessary (for "Robinson", and other names that also do not include "Smokey", please use William Robinson, Jr.).
