We here at Sugar Moods are in a state of mania with our latest release from label mainstay Wilson Costa. His Madness in the Streets EP includes two brand new original tracks, Madness and Lawless Streets. The first track, Madness, brings a straightforward and groove focused percussion pattern that sets the stage right. A stabby synth line and deep bassline bring the groove into focus, before Wilson shakes up the track with a wide and aggressive new bassline that is accented by ethereal pad sounds. Madness brings the heat and drive that keeps things moving and grooving all night. The final track, Lawless Streets, sees Wilson pay homage to classic house grooves while adding modern sensibilities and sounds. A deep and bubbling bassline moves in and out while classic house stabs bounce around the track, creating a vintage and familiar setting. Booming bass rumbles during the breakdown as sirens zip up and down the lawless streets of the tracks dense sonic streets. Lawless Streets shows off Wilson's knack for groove and atmosphere while also having a classic feel. Write Up by: Phil Barker II
